THE GREAT GATSBY

ACT LENGTH: 5 MINUTES  |  SONG: AFTER YOU'VE GONE, TITAN HOT SEVEN

A tribute to the 1920s, this act is inspired by the glamour and decadence portrayed in the parties of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Bonnie Fox sashays on stage in time to a steamy New Orleans blues, peeling herself out of a one-of-a-kind red velvet cocoon coat and gold lamé gloves. As the tempo picks up, she reveals a glittering flapper dress of gold beaded fringe, sparkling sequins and sky blue Swarovski crystals, and dances an authentic 1920s Charleston.  Bonnie is a champion Charleston dancer and internationally recognised historian and teacher of the dance. The striptease continues, revealing a bespoke tightlacing corset and lingerie glittering with crystals. This act won 1st place at the 2013 World Burlesque Games in London, and was awarded “Most Dazzling” at the 2014 Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

NEW ORLEANS BUMP

ACT LENGTH: 4.5 MINUTES  |  SONG: NEW ORLEANS BUMP, WYNTON MARSALIS

Concealed behind her enormous white ostrich feather waterfall fans, Bonnie Fox enters the stage as jungle drums beat an exotic rhythm. As the drums give way to steamy New Orleans horns, she reveals her form, draped in lavender silk with one breast tantalisingly bare.  In this act Bonnie is transformed into a fierce and exotic creature,  kicking off her stilettos to dance the blues barefoot and ferocious, peeling off layer after layer of her silken drapery and dancing blissfully near-nude. As a passionate devotee of authentic jazz and blues dance styles from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, this act channels some of Bonnie's heroines, including legends Josephine Baker, Sandra Gibson and Mabel Lee. This act took 2nd place at the World Burlesque Games 2012.

“Crisp moves and steamy exotic sensuality… an exotic flavour permeates Bonnie Fox’s New-Orleans-inspired fan dance, a high-powered exotic strip marked by aggressive twists and vigorous jumps.”

NOW YOU HAS JAZZ

ACT LENGTH: 4 MINUTES  |  SONG: NOW YOU HAS JAZZ, BING CROSBY & LOUIS ARMSTRONG

In honour of her love of jazz, this act is a high-energy dance spectacular showcasing authentic jazz steps from the 1930s and 40s taught to Bonnie by legendary original dancers of the swing era. In golden bowler hat and  enormous feather bustle, Bonnie strikes a quintessential jazz age silhouette. As the rhythm overcomes her, she performs a skilled striptease revealing a tight-lacing corset dripping in beaded fringe and Swarovski crystals. This act is dedicated in loving memory to Bonnie's teacher, swing dance legend of the Savoy Ballroom, the late great Frankie Manning (1914-2009). Frankie was the man that first piqued Bonnie's interest in burlesque, with his tales of Harlem's burlesque dancers in the 1930s. When Frankie later attended Bonnie's burlesque shows in the mid-2000s (then aged in his nineties) he was ever the most enthusiastic audience member and fond of yelling out, "Shake it but don't break it, girl!"

I'M YOUR MAN

ACT LENGTH: 4.5 MINUTES  |  SONG: I'M YOUR MAN, NICK CAVE

This classic striptease pays tribute to Marlene Dietrich in the 1928 film “Morocco”, in which she sings in a tuxedo and even kisses a girl, with that classic nonchalance that made her one of the century’s most alluring sex symbols. From a gentleman’s tuxedo, top hat and cane, Bonnie Fox slowly peels down to black lace lingerie, revealing tantalising sheer panels and outrageous cutouts.
